Fame, fashion and Fun would be how to describe Gwesty’r Emlyn Hotel’s Taste of Weddings – Blas ar Briodas held on Sunday 15^th May where over 70 guests attended.

The idea was that guests would experience their wedding at the recently refurnished Gwesty’r Emlyn Hotel – so all the finer details were thought of by organisers Diwrnod Perffaith Wedding and Events coordinator.

Guests were wowed by the unique experience and were greeted by harpist Georgina Cornock whilst they sipped their champagne and viewed images from Whole Picture photography’s portfolio.

Dafydd Jones former Scarlets player entertained guests whilst they sat at the tables decorated by Dreams Chair covers and Tivy Hall Florist. Guests were given a selection of free favours to take home with them which included heart shaped welshcakes by Melys cakes, lovespoons by Louise Kelly Designs, handmade soaps by Calon Soaps and earings by Rose Crystal Tips.

The fashion show was the highlight of the evening. Ededa J modelled fantastic new collections for mother of the bride and guests, whilst Scarlets players Gareth Davies, Dan Newton and Ken Owens, enjoyed the attention from the ladies as they modelled the wedding suits and evening wear available to hire from Dyfed Menswear.

Brides were spoilt for choice with the gowns modelled by Emma Phillips Bridal & Boutique  – her new collection gave brides plenty of inspiration. Miss Pembrokeshire enjoyed modelling the gowns – what women wouldn’t. Emma Phillips also has a boutique range for guests and mother of the bride. New company The Cocktail Hat was also seen on the catwalk.

Gwesty’r Emlyn Hotel is the perfect venue to host your special day with the newly refurbished Ty Nest Function Suite and 20 bedrooms and Bridal Suite. A selection of tasty canapés were prepared by the chef  and cupcakes by More than a Cake.

Being launched at the wedding fayre was ‘Wedding in a box’ packages; Teifi, Emlyn and Cawdor. Diwrnod Perffaith has brought together a selection of the finest local suppliers to offer unique  packages consisting of everything you need for your special day.

Diwrnod Perffaith said the wedding packages were very popular, as it takes away the stress and allows the Bride & Groom to enjoy the build up to their big day, as all the organising and planning is taken care of by Diwrnod Perffaith.

Fancy something different at your wedding? Why not get your guests to leave you a message on the willow wish message tree. The Wish Tree is a Dutch Wedding tradition where guests are given a piece of paper either shaped like a leaf or made of card stock, then guests are invited to write their wishes for the bride and groom and hang on the tree. We also have smaller willow trees so you can use them as table centres – why not decorate to match your wedding theme with butterflies, roses or hanging your placenames from there.

What a fantastic day we had at the Pembrokeshire Wedding Fayre, the place was buzzing with excited Brides to be. There was an amazing aray of suppliers on hand for Brides, and it was nice to meet with many of the new and old businesses. We had a successful day and enjoyed chatting to the hundreds of visitors that came to the fayre. We were fortunate to have our stand next to a cake maker – and of course sampled the various flavours of cakes she had. Thanks to all the Brides that attended the Fayre and enquired with us. Look forward to the next Wedding Fayre.

We were all very excited to see the official launch opening of Emma Phillips Bridal Studio & Boutique which took place on Thursday 19^th August. The shop is located in the heart of Carmarthen town and welcomed over 70 ladies throughout the evening.

Guests were greeted with a glass of pink champagne, delicious cupcakes handmade by Home Baking and were met by the friendly staff and owner Emma Phillips herself.

A wonderful collection of occassionwear was on offer for guests to browse and try on, and Emma, her mother Susan and sister Lucy made fabulous models as they showed off some of the new collections by Nico Didonna & Mascara.

On the second floor Brides to be, and those of us who dream of getting married were inundated by the beautiful selection of gowns by Paloma Blanca, Impression, Jean Fox, Jasmine and Sylvia Rose. Bridesmaids were also presented with gowns by Impression and Belsoie. Many guests took advantage of the special offer that Emma Phillips Bridal Studio & Boutique were offering of 10% off any purchase made on the evening, or brides were able to make appointments to try on their dream dresses.

Owner Emma was delighted with the success of the launch “It was an amazingly successful evening, guests just kept arriving it was so nice to see them supporting my new business venture. Business has been thriving and customers seem to love the feel of the boutique and the fantastic range of occasion wear and bridal wear on offer and exclusive to West Wales”.

Emma was keen to support partners that she has been working with and Owen Howells was showcasing his photographic talents to guests and Diwrnod Perffaith Wedding & Events Coordinator who hosted the launch, was also there to promote their services to those brides who needed a little help in planning their big day.

What a wonderful day we had at the Wedding of Cefin & Angharad on 7 August 2010 in Slebech Park, Pembrokeshire. Planning this wedding was so enjoyable, and spending time with Cefin, Angharad and their two wonderful children Tomos and Alaw was delightful. Please have a look at the gallery to view photos of what Diwrnod Perffaith helped create. We arrived at Slebech to prepare for the wedding on Friday to set up the flowers, chair covers by Dreams Wedding Chairs, table centres, place names and attended the Wedding day on Saturday to meet with the cake supplier, make up lady Sara from Ivy Bridge Spa, BlueBird photography, the registrar, the children’s entertainer,  Newshan band, and the photo booth to make sure everything ran smoothly and that everyone was set up on time. The weather was something we were unable to be responsible for, however it was a beautiful day with not a drop of rain – perfect for the perfect couple. We would like to wish the happy couple – Cefin & Angharad and their  two children Tomos & Alaw a wonderful time in Dubai on their honeymoon.
